About Values Education School Cluster Projects

Two rounds of school cluster projects for Values Education were funded by the Australian Government since the release of the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools in 2005. In the Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stages 1 and 2, 25 clusters of schools from around Australia were selected to design, implement and evaluate quality projects in values education which would reflect and utilise the National Framework in local contexts. The projects, managed by Curriculum Corporation, centred on using action research to methodologies to encourage improved values education practice for all Australian schools.

A new grants funded project: VASP – Values in Action Schools Project will be undertaken in 2008-2009.

Values in Action Schools Project is a national project in which clusters of schools are funded to design, implement and evaluate the outcomes of high quality values education projects. Funding for VASP reflects an ongoing commitment to values education. It is part of the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations 2008-09 National Values Education Program. VASP will build on the significant work that has taken place in schools since the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools was sent to all schools in 2005.

All schools in Australia, through cluster arrangements, are invited to develop a project proposal and apply for grants for the Values in Action Schools Project

Applications can be submitted via an online application form on this website. Applications close 14 November 2008.

As the Values in Action Schools Projects are implemented, this website will publish news, updates, and reports on the projects' progress.
