Evaluating ScOT in your system
Organisations that are interested in trialling ScOT as a controlled vocabulary can apply for an evaluation licence.
An Evaluation Licence entitles the person/organisation to receive a data file of ScOT subject terms in XML or text format or both. The person/organisation can evaluate ScOT for purposes they see fit. It is most suitable as a source of metadata terms for describing online curriculum content. ScOT can also be used to enhance software search tools either by taking advantage of its structure for browsing subjects or as an advanced search as a tool that expands user queries.
Persons and organisations are encouraged to investigate ScOT’s potential for integration into systems such as local search engines, local metadata application systems, learning management systems, learning object repositories, content management systems, etc. ScOT Version 6.2 contains subject terms covering concepts within the Key Learning Areas of SOSE, Arts, English, and LOTE and selected areas within Science, Mathematics and Technology.
ScOT Evaluation Licences are available free for a specified timeframe. Ongoing licence agreements can be arranged with Curriculum Corporation upon completion of the evaluation period. Please complete the Application Form and read and sign the Evaluation Licence Agreement and return via
