The Mobile Activity Centre ( MAC)

The Police and Citizens Youth club interacts with disaffected youth in their own environment. MAC provides educational activities, supportive health and welfare information, leisure and recreation. MAC has been seen improve relations between youth at risk of offending and the police force

National Youth Week

Thirty-five organizations throughout Tasmania arranged more than 150 different events including concerts, festivals, dances, forums, open days, sporting activities and workshops in 2001

Youth Services Funding to Small Local Council

Thirteen councils received seed grants for youth programs. Funded programs included development of youth policies and strategies, establishment and support of youth advisory groups and a mentoring and community involvement program.

Community-Based Youth Advisory Services

Three regional Youth Co-ordinating Committees recently undertook a collaborative and consultative process to select a range of innovative and locally relevant ways of providing advisory information to young people in their regions.
