Students at Educational Risk (SAER) Strategy, Making the Difference

Strategy requires schools to co-ordinate and integrate an interagency approach to meeting the individual needs of students at risk of alienation.

School Leaver Program

The School Leaver Program aims to identify and assist school leavers who are unable to secure employment, education and/or training placements once they have left school

Safety Net Making it Happen

Safety Net is an early intervention strategy targeting students who display early signs of at risk behaviour (ie truancy or other behaviour resulting in suspension).

Joblinks

The Joblink program is a community-based employment service, which provides a range of activities to assist local job seekers into employment or training.

Joblink services and activities include:

• employment counselling;
• advice and assistance with job search techniques; and
• support for school leavers to access employment.

Aboriginal School-Based Traineeship Program

This program provides an integrated approach towards the education and vocational training of young Aboriginal students in order to increase school retention rates and reduce unemployment.

Target group: Students are drawn principally from post-compulsory school years. The minimum age for a traineeship is 15 years.

Competitively Allocated Training (CAT)
