| The MCEETYA Ministerial Council is serviced by an independent Secretariat that is located in Melbourne and is funded by all member governments. The Secretariat supports the Chair and the Council in setting agendas, preparing papers and ensuring the effective conduct of the Council's business. The Secretariat provides similar services to AESOC and to some taskforces. The Secretariat is headed by the MCEETYA Secretary, who is responsible to the Chair of MCEETYA for the administrative, operational and organisational functions of the Secretariat, through AESOC (see next section). Therefore, all communication with MCEETYA and AESOC (and their respective Chairs) should be directed to the MCEETYA Secretary.
The Secretariat is not constituted as a legal entity, and operates under the legal shelter of the Curriculum Corporation. The MCEETYA Secretary is responsible to the Chief Executive of the Curriculum Corporation for carriage of legal, employment and financial matters. |
