SEEKING PERMISSION TO USE MATERIAL WHICH APPEARS IN A CURRICULUM CORPORATION PUBLICATION
The following information is intended to assist you to seek permission to use material which appears in a Curriculum Corporation publication
If you wish to seek permission, first you need to ascertain who owns copyright in the material you wish to use. That is, you need to determine whether Curriculum Corporation or another party owns the copyright in the item.
The item that you are seeking to reproduce may have been licensed by Curriculum Corporation in the first instance, for its own publication. Such items can be identified by the presence of an Acknowledgements statement (either below the item or on a separate Acknowledgements page / section) and this will generally provide you with information regarding the party to contact for permission. For example, an image might be acknowledged to a cultural institution and therefore you will need to contact the institution for their permission, not Curriculum Corporation.
If the item is not from another source, please check who is acknowledged as the copyright owner for the overall publication:
- For Curriculum Corporation websites, CD-ROMs or DVDs scroll to the footer of the relevant page and click onto the copyright notice or Acknowledgement Statement.
- For a Curriculum Corporation print publication, refer to the imprint page. The imprint page is located at the start of a book, before the list of Contents. This page lists publication details and includes a copyright statement, e.g. © Commonwealth of Australia, 2006.
If the copyright information you have referred to indicates that:
- Curriculum Corporation owns copyright or you are unable to ascertain the ownership of the item, contact Curriculum Corporation by completing the Permissions Request Form
; - the Commonwealth of Australia owns copyright, contact The Australian Attorney General's Department for copyright inquiries: http://www.ag.gov.au/cca;
- or a copyright owner other than Curriculum Corporation or the Commonwealth owns the copyright in the relevant material, seek permission to use that material directly from that organisation.
Please allow a minimum of a fortnight for us to process your request.
Contact permissions@curriculum.edu.au if you have any queries regarding this process.
