Australian School Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics
The Australian Government’s Australian School Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) project offered grants to innovative projects to bring about real and permanent improvements to teaching and learning in Science, Technology and Mathematics, and foster a culture of innovation in Australian schools. The Australian Government funded more than 350 cluster initiatives over the five-year life of the ASISTM Project. Curiculum Corporation managed the project of behalf of the Australian Government.
ASISTM initiatives were undertaken by clusters of schools, together with non-school cluster partners such as universities, businesses, community organisations, or science, technology or mathematics institutions. They also involved non-school personnel working as Teacher Associates, helping inspire students by bringing their ‘real-life’ science, technology and mathematics experience into classrooms.
