The NALSAS Teaching and Learning Resources for Years 5-8 were funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations under the National Asian Languages and Studies in Australian Schools Strategy (NALSAS).
Chinese Online
These exciting and innovative student learning objects comprise six Scenarios, four Explorers and two Space Adventure games. The beautifully illustrated Scenarios use language in a range of contemporary settings and challenge students to explore the language through games, language and culture notes included throughout the narratives.
The Explorers provide students with an intercultural language experience as well as being a rich source of images, texts and language audio files.
In addition, the two Space Adventure games challenge students to apply their language learning to solve time-limited problems on a space station.
All student resources are supported with detailed teachers' notes.

Japanese Online
The Japanese online resources consist of 12 beautiful and innovative learning objects. There are six Scenarios, four Explorers and two Space Adventure games. The richly illustrated Scenarios consist of a range of contemporary and 'story' settings which often contain humorous elements. Students explore the language introduced in the stories further through games, language and culture notes included throughout stories.
