Forming Government and Passing Legislation: Activity Three

Presenting an enactment of forming government and passing legislation

1. Invite another class and/or parents to watch the play and be involved in the direction that the play takes.

If time permits, the students could perform the play a second time with different decisions being made by the audience.

2. The prime minister, the leader of the opposition and any independent members are invited to ask the questions to test the audience’s knowledge of how government is formed and how legislation is passed.

Reflection

Based on students prior knowledge of rules, ask student to reflect and record the differences between how a rule is made and how a law is made.
