Focus Question 1: What Are Human Rights?
All people are entitled to the same freedom and protections regardless of who they are, where they live or what they believe. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948 establishes these basic rights, allowing all people the freedom for self-determination and protection from persecution.
